About Me

Hi, I’m Gary.

Gary Kuepper

I’m an ECS Analysis Engineer at Boeing and a Computer Science graduate from CSUMB. My background is in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, but these days I live at the intersection of hardware and software. I’m fascinated by how intelligent code can breathe life into mechanical systems—specifically when it comes to autonomous drone swarms and distributed robotics.

Experience

The Boeing Company Environmental Controls System Analysis Engineer 2022 - Present
Marvin Engineering, Inc. Research and Development Engineer 2015 - 2022
Cunico Deputy Quality Control Manager 2013 - 2015

Education

BS, Computer Science CSU Monterey Bay (Graduated April 2026)
MS, Mechanical Engineering CSU Long Beach
BS, Mechanical Engineering Cal Poly SLO

My Journey

I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering. I recently completed a second degree in Computer Science from CSUMB to round out my toolkit. This combination lets me look at robotics from both sides: the physical constraints of the machine and the complex algorithms required to make them work together.

What I’m Building

I’m a firm believer in learning by building, breaking, and rebuilding. Currently, I'm maturing my GNN-based drone swarm design (GG Swarm) to move from simulation to hardware for real-life applications—including backyard light shows. At Boeing, I work day-to-day as an ECS Analysis Engineer, resolving in-service safety problems to keep airplanes flying—and, you know, making sure everyone can actually keep breathing onboard!

Beyond the Code

When I’m not at a terminal or a workbench, I’m usually out finding new experiences. I’m a big traveler, whether that’s a multi-day camping trip in a National Park or a flight across the world for a food tour.

I’m also a massive soccer fan—you’ll find me at LA Galaxy matches or cheering for Tottenham Hotspur and the US National teams. And when it's time for a change of pace, I'm probably at a K-pop concert; I’ve seen TWICE and BLACKPINK live and am always keeping an eye out for the next tour.

If you want to talk robotics, K-pop, or soccer, feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn.
